The steady rumble of the twin engine turbines was an unusual sound for Bradley Dorian, who had lived his whole life, 17 years, in a small town just outside New York City. He had boarded the commercial plane, along with his four large luggage bags, earlier that morning, excited about the trip. Bradley, or Brad as he was called by his friends, and about fifty other students were being shipped off to Hawaii to study the ocean at a new Summer Oceanography and Research Camp. The whole idea excited him. A beautiful place, new people; hot girls! You get the point. He was more than ready to go. Ready to escape that little town he called home.
How he hated that place he grew up. The people were boring; unkind. The only other person, besides a family member, that had ever shown him compassion was his best friend, Jianna Replision. She had been the driving force that kept him going. She was kind, and smart, brave and true. And although everyone speculated they there was a romantic relationship brewing, they really were just friends. Too wonderfully bright friends.
Brad sat down in the middle of the plane, next to the window, and waited as the rest of the travelers took their respective seats. Suddenly, someone plopped down next to Brad. Slowly, Brad looked up into the face of his new companion.

Airplanes were not a big deal for her, since she's been on them since she was little. Her first ever was the flight she took with her parents to America, where they had come to start a new life. And what a glorious one it had been so far, and Annika hoped that there were many more years for her to come. But she's been on plane rides everywhere: Paris, Milan, Rome, Singapore, Chicago, Ontario, San Juan. Almost any place imaginable. That's what you get when your parents work for an international company around vacation times and holidays.
So, as she boarded onto the plane with her flight information stuck in her mouth as she was carrying two large duffel bags and a messenger bag, music played into her ears via the iPod headphones stuck into her ears. But was that all for her luggage? Hardly such. Underneath the plane was a large Louis Vuitton suitcase filled. Ever heard of the expression of someone who packs for a year when they're only leaving for a week? Yeah, that's Annika. She brought just about anything she could think that she could possibly need. Ridiculous? Oh, quite.
Glancing down at the papers shoved into her mouth to see her seat, she made her way past the other occupants of the airplane. Finally making it to the section where her seat was located, she dropped her two duffel bags and proceeded to place them up in the overhead cabinets. Annika achieved that, after having a little bit of help from a fellow passenger. The duffels were large, and she being tiny, it just didn't work out. She pulled the headphones from her ears and wrapped them up, stashing them into the messenger bag she get around her shoulders. Tousling her hair out of habit, she moved into her seat to find that she was sitting next to someone. A boy.
Plopping herself down into it, she removed her messenger bag and placed it on the floor before turning to him. "Hi. I'm Annika Morgan," She said, holding out her hand with a large smile on her face. Making friends was never really /that/ hard for her, especially when she's excited. And who wouldn't be excited about going to Hawaii. Of all the exotic places she's been before, it was rather funny to find that she hadn't even been to Hawaii yet. But she was glad to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York City and get on a little slice of paradise to relax.

Dorian’s stomach quickly found it’s way into the back of his throat. Ever have that experience? One moment you are completely carefree; relaxed and then something, or someone, comes along and then throws your normal moment upside-down? Well, that’s what happened when Annika Morgan sat down next to Bradley Dorian.
The girl’s smile was warm and welcome, while Brad’s was awkward and unnatural. Her eyes, those lovely shades of brown gazed down upon him as if they were x-raying him. Her long brown hair, falling around her with a gentle curl. The vision of loveliness.
Dorian knew he had to say something clever and witty; something to get her to smile and sit down next to him. He wondered if she felt the same way about him. Blessed with good looks he was, he generally was good with ladies. Trying to say cool, he said, “Hi, I’m .... ummm….”
“Your Name!” He though to himself, his mind racing wildly. “Wonderful Brad! You got as far as your name and then blew it. Wonderful!” As his mind race, his eyes found hers and then something clicked. “Brad Dorian.” He said, relief spreading through his body like electric thrill. “It’s nice to meet you … Annika did you say your name was? That’s a beautiful name.” Talk about awkward beginnings!

Antoinette rummaged through her army green messenger back for her flight information. Her mother was rambling on about something, but in the sixteen years she'd lived with her, Antoinette had learned to tune her consistent babbling out. She finally grasped the papers and quickly looked at her seat number. This was to be her first time one an air-plane, and she Antoinette wasn't in the least bit excited to be hovering hundreds of thousand of feet above the ground.
She hugged her mother good-bye and proceeded onto the plane. She glanced back to where her mother was standing, to see that a small tear slipped from her eye, but she kept walking forward onto the plane, knowing that the small tear was only motherly concern for her only daughter. Once she had boarded, Antoinette walked slowly through in between the rows of seats, looking for her own. She had continued to say her seat number in her ming ever since she left her mother. Her blue eyes surveyed each seat number, until Antoinette reached the near center row. "Here" she thought when she had finally found her seat.
There were two people sitting behind her, a boy, who seemed a bit nervous and a girl. Antoinette flashed her pearly whites, and gave them a slight smile. "Hey..."Antoinette said pleasantly as she struggled to take off her messenger bag, messing up her hair in the process. "I'm Annie." she added, running her fingers through her semi-straight, black and blond hair, attempting to fix the tangled mess of hair. The plane began to fill up with other students, so she sat in her seat and attempted to fix her hair once more. "You two excited about Hawaii?" she asked.

This boy that she was now seated next to was cute, almost a reminder of someone she knew. Great hair, amazing eyes, charming smile. All that couldn't help but increase the smile that already accented her face. A tiny laugh came from her lips as he stuttered to find words. True, it was not rare for her to meet someone who suddenly became lost for words. Some people just weren't as outgoing as she was sometimes. But finally, he emitted a name. Brad Dorian. It was cute.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Brad. And yes, Annika, but thank you for saying that." Her voice was calm yet full of energy. Why wouldn't it be? She was on a flight to Hawaii, sitting next to an amazing looking guy. Named Brad. About to say something else, her eyes caught a girl coming into the seats in front of them and her suddenly talking to the two of them. "Annie? Oh, we almost have the same nicknames." Annika said with a laugh. "Some people call me Anni, but without the 'e'. But it's wonderful to meet you. And it's beyond exciting that we're all going to Hawaii. I mean, it's paradise down there and we get to meet all new people. Like a trip to heaven. What about you, Brad? Excited?" Energetic, maybe? Hah. To say the least. But her pearl-white straight smile still beamed on her face as she looked from Annie to Brad and back.

“Excited isn’t word,” Brad began, calming down a little bit. She didn’t seem to mind his nervous disposition. Perhaps she was use to guys falling all over her. “Hawaii is a beautiful place and I can’t wait to get there. But I have a terrible fear of heights.” Then the engine gave a louder roar, which Brad too as a signal that the plane was beginning to take off. Before another word, he reached over to the window, pulled down the shade, and then sat back in his seat, a little more relaxed.
Then the Flight Attendant’s voice came over the speaker system. “Attention all guests. Please fasten your seatbelts and sit back in your seats. We are preparing for lift off.” Brad shuddered slightly. In a moment or two, it would be too late. He would be off into the air and the final destination would be Hawaii. A childish memory of his past flooded back into his brain.
He was sitting in a small green cart, winding up steep a track, along with the rest of the train of carts. Higher and higher they climbed, steadily getting closer to their peak. His eyes were shut. Slowly, he opened his lids, gazing down towards the ground. The people looked tiny from way up here. And then the cart slowed. He wanted to turn back, but the momentum they had picked up was no carrying the cart the remaining distance to the peak. And then it happened. The cart flew over the peek, down the tracks. The rollercoaster was off. The sound of a nearby traveler woke him from his flashback. “How about you Annika. Are you afraid of heights as well?”

Running with her bags, a young woman huslted through the large crowds of people. Panting, her hair began to stick to her face as she started to sweat from running for so long. Carts and people with big bags swarmed the terminal. People everywhere were teary eyed and sad, telling goodbyes and saying "I'll miss you".
Kirsty tripped on a small backpack and went spralling on the floor, her luggage flying around her. Grumpily, she got up and grabbed her stuff. Looking at her watch, she hastily made her way through the group. There was five minutes until lift off!
Finally getting through security and into her plane docking area, she showed the guard her passport and plane ticket. He nodded and let her pass. Her bags were then ushered away to be loaded onto the plane. Kirsty's purse was the only thing left for her to have on the plane.
Carefully, she made her way onto the plane. She had never flown before, and was dreading this flight. Yes she couldn't wait for the Oceanography Camp, but no, she didnt like this flight. Bumping into different chairs on her way down the aisle, she caught site of more kids her age. Most of the seats were full, but Kirsty managed to find two empty seats together. Taking the window seat, she set her purse on the floor next to her feet and waited.
“Attention all guests. Please fasten your seatbelts and sit back in your seats. We are preparing for lift off.” Kirsty did as she was told and was satisfied when her belt gave a click and the stewardess tugged on it and it didnt unbuckle. Grinning, she ran a hand through her curls. This would be a great summer.

Acacia walked over to the closet of her bed-room. At the moment she was debating what to wear when her cousin walked in and sat down on her bed. Giving a small and quiet sigh she turned around. " Isa could you please help me pick something out? I have to leave in a half-hour to drive to the airport." After several minutes of debating, Isa picked out a cute pair of jeans and a mint green three-quarter sleeve t-shirt. Hurriedly, Acacia brushed her hair so that the curls were still there and she gave her cousin a hug. Still being rushed, she ran down, said good-bye to her parents and drove to the airport.
Right on time, Acacia arrived at the baggage claim and placed her bag there. Walking on to the plane she took her book out of her carry-on bag that she had fell asleep reading last night and she looked around at the signs directing her on where to go. "All passengers about to board the next flight headed to Honolulu, Hawaii please board now." Taking a deep breath Acacia walked up to the woman taking the tickets and after the woman checked all that she needed to, Acacia boarded the plane.
The plane was like the other ones that she had been on when she went to see her family in Cozumel for the past several years. And like normal, she saw a lot of faces that she didn't know. Placing her carry-on beneath her feet, Acacia sat down on a seat that was cata-cornered from a boy who was talking to a couple of girls. Giving him a soft and polite smile, she pulled out her book and began to read.

The two new arrivals took their respective seats just behind Brad and Annika. Turning around, Brad gazed at the two young girls. “Why are all the girls here so beautiful?” He thought to himself, looking from Annika to Antoinette to the two new ladies. This really was going to be a great trip!
“Hi!” Dorian said, directing his welcome toward the pair. “I’m Brad and this is Annika and Antoinette” The girl sitting directly behind Anni drew his eye most. She had beautiful long black hair and amazing eyes. She was nearly as beautiful as Annika Morgan. The green shirt she wore contrasted perfectly with her eyes. She had style!
Then the plane lurched forward suddenly, scaring the crap out of Brad. The plane rolled along the runway and then flew up, into the sky, Brad scared out of his mind, continuing to stare into the girls beautiful eyes, and smiling slightly. For some reason he found comfort in the milky-ness. Then a boy well behind them yelled, “Hawaii Here We Come!” His outburst was answered by cheers and claps from the entire cabin.

Brandi and her father arrived at the airport "I'm going to be late!"Brandi said, worried. She jumped out of the truck, grabbing her bags and ran inside. Her father shook his head and followed her quickly. It took them a few minutes to find the terminal then she turned around and hugged him tight"I love you daddy"A tear ran down."I love you too sweetheart.Have fun.."He said, kissing her cheek.
Brandi smiled and turned, walking onto the plane. She looked down at her paper she had, finding her seat number, sitting down next to a window. She sighed and pushed her hair back out of her face"This is going to be fun.."She said to herself, smiling bright. She looked around at the other people that were on the plane and fastened her seat belt then looked out at window.
Brandi started humming softy, still looking out the window. She closed her eyes and leaned back.
She stopped humming, opening her eyes again and sighed, she was worried and couldn't get her mind off it.This was her first flight. She had never really liked heights. She glanced down at her hands witch were shaking slightly. She bit her lip, tensing up"Come on Brandi," She told herself, "Everything is going to be fine, Think of the fun you will have when you get there!"

Acacia smiled and put down the book, keeping her small hand on the book. Her deep brown eyes looked up at Brad. "Hi. I'm Acacia Julio Ricarto Montez." She spoke in a cute, teasing voice. She loved telling her full name to people when she was introducing herself. Mainly because she liked seeing their expressions. Acacia mentally smiled as she remembered the look on her principles face at the last school that she moved to. He had a deer in the head-light look. Then she said that she just went by Acacia Montez and he gave a relieved sigh. Her name and looks were the only thing that she had left of her old country.
The sudden lurch of the plane freaked her out a little and she let out a soft gasp. As she felt the plane fly up, Acacia closed her eyes for a moment preserving a mental picture of everyone's smiling faces and the look of the plane. As if it was the last time she was going to be on it. But, that was just a silly idea. It wasn't like the plane was going to crash or anything. Stop that Cia, you've flown so many times before. Everything will be fine and in fourteen hours, you'll be in Hawaii! Acacia nodded and laughed at the boy in the backs sudden outburst.
"So what grade is everybody in?" She asked trying to keep up the normal conversation. Acacia buckled her seat belt and leaned her head back against the seat so she could keep a better view of the people she was having a conversation with. That was when she noticed the boy who had introduced the group to her. His looks amazed her. He was so perfect, in everyway. And his eyes, she could get lost in them. Acacia shook her head and tried to control her stare.

Post by Hector Tobias on Aug 30, 2007 19:37:51 GMT -5
Hector Tobias had been sitting in the back of the plane, his ipod’s headphones pushing against his head, playing his favorite music. Hector wasn’t interested in making friends at this little vacation. He was there to learn about the ocean, and that was all. Perhaps he would, maybe, meet a cool girl, but his hopes weren’t high.
Looking out at the rest of the plane’s occupants, he noticed an old friend sitting in a group of girls. “How typical.” Hector said to himself, a little unconscious jealously filling his thoughts. Brad Dorian and Hector Tobias had known each other for many years. Brad had been born and raised in Paterson, and only moved away when he started Highschool. Tobias and Dorian had once been friends, or as close to as a friend that Tobias could ever had.
“It was a working relationship.” Brad would have said, as Tobias helped him through all his schoolwork, while Brad put him in touch with people who would help him advance in his career. Tobias had, and always will, cherished a desire to become a Doctor for many years, and had begun to volunteer at a local hospital, helping out an old friend of Dorian’s grandfather, Doctor Kirin.

Brad continued to make eye contact with the girl, unable to look away. The steady beats of Annika’s speaker could be heard, very faintly. “I’m a Junior.” Brad said, realizing that the other three people in the conversation had lost interest. It was now just Brad and Miss Montez. “How about you?” He asked, his last word coming out slowly, for he had just looked over her shoulder, finally breaking eye contact.
“Holy Crap!” He thought to himself, seeing a old yet very familiar face. “Hector Tobias?” Brad thought to himself. Brad had known Hector from what Dorian had called, “his past life.” Years ago, Brad had lived in a very unsafe town, and it was there that he had met Hector.
Perplexed, he rose up out of his seat, and walked towards the old acquaintance, not saying a word to the lovely girl sitting near him. He did not mean to offend her, but all thoughts about her and her beauty left him as he began to wonder if it really was Hector, the boy who had wronged him so many years ago.

A flight attendant came on air and gave instruction for everyone to fasten their safety belts. Her hands shook slightly as she buckled her seatbelt, but in the end managed to get the two pieces to come together. "Here we go." she thought as the plane lurched forward. Antoinette bit her lip and grasped the armrest tightly, digging her nails far into the fabric. Her foot tapped down on the planes floor as it took off, which only caused her eyes to close tightly.
Once the plane was in the air, she opened her eyes. "Hey." she said to the new people on the flight. "I'm a junior too." but those were the only words she could force out of her mouth. She gulped loudly and tried not to look out the window next to her. "I had to be the one to get a window seat?" Antoinette thought, scolding herself. "Just my luck."
Her white teeth were still biting down on her bottom lip, as her left foot continued to tap. Antoinette's hands were tugging on her black t-shirt. Her newly found fear of air-planes would make her and the people around her miserable for the fourteen hours the plan was to be in the air, and the window seat wasn't making the situation any better. "Er, could anyone who doesn't have a window seat switch seats with me?" she begged. "I don't think I can stand sitting here with out freaking out." she added, hoping desperately that someone would be willing.

I have an empty seat here! Kirsty said aloud to the girl who obviously didnt like her seat. Honestly, Kirsty didnt like hers either, but decided that maybe she could make a friend by offering the girl the other seat. Another girl came in behind her. Her name was Acacia Montez. She was the prettiest girl that Kirsty had ever seen. That was what the boys at school always went for. Grinning, she waved at her.
Im a junior. Im guessing that everyone here is. Laughing, Kirsty turned in her seat to face the others. This possibly couldn't be so bad. The plane lurched again, and her face paled. A guy that had been sitting near the girls earlier got up to go see another one, his face a little shocked and possibly angry.
Watching the escapade unfold, Kirsty blinked. Everyone here seemed to be dressed pretty nicely. She herself had on jeans and a purple three quarter sleeve shirt on over a white tanktop. Her converse were a little beat up, but were nice looking. Black with skulls and hearts. Taking out her iPod, she put the headphones in her ears and turned it on. Immediatly Paramore began to blare in her ears. Bobbing her head to the music, she grinned. This plane ride was getting interesting.
Of course, she didnt expect to make friends right off or get a guy. She expected to excell in what she was going to study. But this guy that sat with his own iPod on was pretty good looking. Shifting her eyes away, she tried not to watch the escapade unfolding.
